Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I talk to someone before I book an appointment?
I do not offer free discovery calls, but I can assure you I provide you a very thorough initial consultation. This appointment includes a very detailed review of your history, current lab results, and personal health goals. Even if you decide to not continue care with us, you will have received education and explanations of your lab results along with recommendations towards obtaining your best self.
What is functional medicine?
Functional medicine is a whole body approach to medical care that focuses on identifying the root cause of the disease to help your body to function optimally. I pride myself in not just patching the problem with layers of prescriptions but addressing symptoms caused by vitamin and nutrient deficiencies with proper supplement and lifestyle modifications. I address underlying inflammation, gut microbiome health, and the effects of stressors and toxins on the body.
Can I use my insurance to pay for my diagnostic testing and prescriptions?
We will try our best to code your diagnostic tests to ensure insurance coverage. There are alternative functional health tests that will be recommended that insurance companies do not pay for. Prescription coverage will be determined by your insurance company.
Can you be my primary care provider?
Yes! I have been trained in family medicine and have practiced as a family healthcare provider for the last 15 years. It can be difficult to assess particular ailments and/or perform annual physical exams via the telehealth platform. For this reason, I do recommend maintaining a relationship with a healthcare provider in a brick and mortar office.
How do I get my prescription medications and recommended supplements?
Prescriptions will be sent electronically to your pharmacy.
Get Well, Stay Well Telehealth most frequently offers supplement recommendations through Fullscript, an online medical-grade supplement store. You will set up an account, pay Fullscript directly, then Fullscript ships the supplements to you.
Do you take my insurance?
Get Well, Stay Well Telehealth Clinic does not take insurance. We do accept both HSA and FSA funding. By avoiding insurance company regulations, I am able to more time focusing on my patients’ individualized needs.
Do you treat children?
No. Although Kimberly is trained as a family nurse practitioner, she believes that children should be followed by a pediatrician until they are 18 years of age. It is important for children’s growth and development to be properly monitored.
Do you work with a physician?
No. Kimberly is a Florida licensed autonomous nurse practitioner. Post graduate from her Master’s degree, she has spent 15 years training directly with physicians in a primary care or functional health clinic setting. Nurse practitioners can complete exams, order and interpret diagnostic testing and labs, and write prescriptions.
